Default building a 686-4 3inch

I have several 686-4's laying around and today I ordered a barrel from S&W that is from their new production line of 3 inch 686's, I have seen pictures of a 686-4 3 inch but I can't recall if it had a pinned front sight or was a integral RR. I should have thought to order the longer ejector but I forgot, oh well I might have one laying around if I look. Any pics of a 686-4 3 inch would be greatly appreciated. I have looked for one of these guns for ages and have had no luck, so I thought I would just build one and have the gun I have always wanted. This gun is going to be to shoot, so I'm not worried about the collector value of it really. anyone who has done this and has any advice please let me know.

I would like a 6 shot 3" 686 as well. Good luck with the build. Please post some pics when done.

Excellent project. You'll love it! The perfect all around barrel length IMO. Great for home defense CC, hiking, camping and shooting. All of my 3" Smiths are tack drivers. My 3" CS-1 is a hoot to shoot!

Is that a square butt 686 you're using? I love the look of a 3" barrel with a SB. Very unique. My only advise would be replace the front sight with a thin one for faster sight alignment.

Please post pics and good luck.
