Watch for any signs of the finish not being firmly attached. Any scratch's which may go through the finish. Dings which may not polish out with Flitz. Then of course the regular points to check on any S&W revolver. I might question the target grips on it which look too new to me. May not be original.
This gun has a little "freckeling" on both sideplates. Do you suppose that's something that will polish out? Does that mean it's destined to crack and peel?
It's a 586, no dash, and S/N starts with AJK.
The back of the cylinder is stamped with the letter N. Does that mean the nickel finish is from the factory?
