Default 24-3 Grip Question

I picked up a 24-3 4" today. Correct box with it is marked Target Stocks, but would the correct grips be footballs or speedloader cut-outs?

Thank You
RW

This was made in the speedloader cut-out era, about 1983. Hope this is helpful.

I bought two of these revolvers new in 1983. Both of them had the football cutout. I think the originals had the football cutouts. Mine did 'not' have RR WO sights. I guess it's possible that there were some special orders or some revolvers were retrofitted with different sights and grips.

I subsequently sold both revolvers. Big mistake...

Congratulations on your find!

Of the four I bought, three of the 4" and one 6.5", all new from a dealer, all had football cutout target stocks, as did the 4" 624 I owned.

I have two Model 24-3, 4 inch revolvers and both have a case hardened target trigger and hammer.

SN ABZ14xx speed loader grips are dated December 08, 1986 and the revolver has a Red Ramp front sight and a white outline rear sight. This revolver is in about 95% conditon.

SN ABZ56xx football grips are dated August 26, 1989. The revolver has a blued front sight and rear sight. This one is ANIB with box and papers.
