Default Thinking of trading my 60-4 for a M-37 - am I crazy?

I obtained a near-pristine 60-4 from a fellow board member last year, thinking it was THE gun for me to tote on the farm and in the woods. Perfect balance with the 3" barrel. However, it's just too doggone heavy for me to really carry like I want. Even using a substantial belt it just ain't gonna work for me.
So, I'm considering selling it or trading it for a Model 37 airweight. I'd keep it, but I don't have the disposable cash to be able to get another gun.
Somehow I feel like I'm gonna regret getting rid of the 60-4.

If you've tried various holsters along with belts, I guess you are stuck. You'll likely find several willing buyers/traders here. Just be forewarned the 37 will balance differently, even 3" for 3".

I think you haven't found the correct holster. I can carry a N Frame all day in a Simply Rugged holster and forget it's there.

I have a 60-4 and if you trade it you will REGRET it. Try a good high ride holster like a Lobo enhanced pancake or a DeSantis #2. I carry mine all the time and forget that it is with me.

Your ability to hit with the 37 will only be a shadow of your accuracy with the 60-4.

Thought I'd add my two cents here. After carrying for over 40 yrs. (retired LEO) I routiney carry the aluminum frame J's. The Model 60 is heavy, at least to me, and I wound up leaving it at home. Once I got the model 37 it went with me everywhere. I now carry a 638 shrouded hammer. You may regret the trade, but if you practice with the lighter version you will be just as proficient & you will have the gun w/you if you ever need it. If money is the issue I say go for it, your safety is worth it.

I have J frames in snubbie, 3" & 4" barrel versions. Blue, nickel, stainless, TI versions. As others have stated, you will not feel the weight with a proper belt/holster combination. What are you using now?

Best bar-b-que in the world is made there in Wilson. You are a lucky guy.

From what I can read, there were only 2000 60-4's made. You might want to reconsider. I have one and it is outstanding.

I am fortunate to have a 3" 37 and a 60-4. Would not trade off or sell the 60-4. When it is cold I will put on a shoulder holster and carry the larger gun. If the weather is warm a Mod. 38 goes along. I have only seen two Mod. 60-4 guns, they are unique and really nice. I do understand your predicament.

I had a 60-4 that I traded and I regret it to the depths of my soul! My 638 is easier to carry but I sure wish I had that 60 back. I would tend to agree that you haven't found the right holster. When I'm out goofing around in the woods I've got my 6" 686+ in a Simply Rugged Loaded Pankcake and it carries great.

Well, gentlemen, I may end up regretting it, but the 60-4 is up for sale. I just don't have enough "***" to tote it on my hip.
