Default 360pd

...I just wanted to ask opinions on this model...It seems like a no-brainer - to get one. But I'm sure there are negative/caucious people, too. Anyway, please let me know if there are positive/negative, etc. comments on this model. Thanks. It is a LOT of $$ to shell out for one...

I had one for a short while, and frankly it just didn't move me. An Airweight works just as well for half the price. Mine moved on pretty quickly.

If it's what YOU want and you can afford it, go for it.
I owned one of these a couple of years back, took it to the range, fired 5 rounds of Cor-Bon .357MAG 125gr JHP's and put it up for sale the next day. If you enjoy getting your hand smacked with a baseball bat between your thumb and forefinger then this guns for you.
It makes little sense to me to lay out that much cash for a piece that will beat you up and in the end you'll wind up shooting .38SPL out of it.
Buy yourself a 442 at about half the 360 price and have done with it. The 442 will gitter done.

I have two of them, with laser grips.

They are so light I can carry one even in shorts.

I have 357 magnum power if I need it. I carry in the country and may want to pop a deer as well as two-legged varmits.

I can always carry 38 ammo but have found I can tolerate two cylinder loads of magnum without much ill effect.
I have full-size steel revolvers for range use.

With a 357 you have the option of loading down.
With a scandium gun you forget you are carrying it.
If your gun is so heavy you leave it at home it will do you no good.

Carry a lot, shoot a little.

Default Yea

I've got .357 lever guns, too & I really like the idea of shooting the same loads in the lever & in the revolver. With the 360pd, I can 'load down' to a .38 or so if I want but can still shoot a full .357 too! I think it's a 'no-brainer' to go with a 360pd.

If I wait 4-6 months, will the price drop even more..? I'm not in a hurry - I don't NEED one - I just WANT one...? Thanks.

For a gun that's around a decade old I don't think 4-6 months is gonna do anything to value.

I've owned a 340 and still own a 337PD. If you "have to" have magnum power and it "has to" weigh less then 12 ounces then the money for the 360 is worth it. As "cool" as it was to challenge people at the range to shoot a sub 12 ounce .357 magnum, I myself never carried the 340 in that configurations. It always had .38 specials (not even +P's) when it was with me out on the street. In the end, I sold the 340 and kept the 337.

I love my 340PD (the centennial version of the 360PD). Carried it this evening, as a matter of fact. It weighs so little, you forget you have it, and it's very manageable with the Speer Gold Dot 135-grain 357 magnum rounds (approx 1000 fps out of the 1.875" barrel). Not much fun with the full-power 357 magnums though.

I saw a used 340PD listed for $650 in the gunshop the other day. I suspect it was one of those "shot five times and sold it" pistols. New ones were going for around $900, but I've seen them cheaper elsewhere.
