Thunder Ranch 325 with 500 grip
This experience I thought was worth sharing ... I'm still working my way back from a shoulder scoping a few months ago, but decided to take a pain killer and try something I'd been wanting to do for some time. Went to the range with my Thunder Ranch 325, which had been mothballed for a while. The stock open backstrap grip was never to my liking, so I replaced it with S&W's 500 Mag grip. It's a big chunk'o'rubber, but makes the 325 an all day shooter. Additionally, it allowed me to maximize my limited range of motion by providing a very stable base for two-handed shooting. The target shows Wolf ball ammo fired from 15'-18', single action. Two fliers up top were due to fatigue, while the four diagonally in the middle came when I was adjusting the rear sight. If I can shoot the 325 like this with a strong side arm at only 50%-60%, I'll be dead on when completely healthy. And based on these results, I'm anxious to give it a try at the next IDPA match. The 325 is a great revolver; balanced perfectly, highly visible gold dot front sight, eats any type of .45 ACP, and makes for an amazingly lightweight (31 oz) but manageable Mountain-type Gun. Next, I have to get a proper Lobo rig and some polymer moon clips, then I'll be good to go!

I've always thought about taming a NG or another scandium revolver with the 500 grips.
Glad it's working out for you.
I second the notion of pictures.

Here's a couple photos before cleaning the 325. The grip looks bigger than it feels, and is actually very comfortable. Recoil is minimal.
