I posted last week about a ODD 629 at my local gun store. I mistakenly gave the wrong Pr # while attempting to get imput on what and when on this piece. It is a 629-6 3" unfluted. PR#163409, no markings as to bounty hunter,back packer,bear survival, just a plain gun with rubber grips and a lanyard ring. No date on box, just appeared on the shelf 2 weeks ago but theres nothing in S&W catolog. Any clues out there of age and model name if any. Thanks

If I'm not mistaken, it's the "Trail Boss". I have one and it's my go-to backcountry gun.

Some of the earlier models had "trail boss" laser etched on the sideplate, but mine does not. I believe these were a limited run for RSR.
