It's been a long wait, but my 360J finally got here. S&W did an excellent job of installing the Ti cylinder. Zero endshake and zero rotational play in the cylinder at full lock. Nice tight cyl/barrel gap. As I posted here, they had to recut the forcing cone to install the longer Ti cylinder, which means I can never reuse the steel cylinder on this gun.
Replacing the steel cylinder with the Ti one dropped the empty weight from 13.1 oz to 11.3 oz. So, for all intents and purposes I now have a 360PD chambered in 38 Special. It will be interesting to see how it shoots.
I got to shoot the gun for the first time on Thanksgiving at my uncle's farm. Recoil is a little snappier, which is to be expected, but still not uncomfortable. The biggest surprise was how much the point of impact has changed. The gun shoots quite a bit higher than it did before. Once I determined the amount I needed to adjust the sight picture, all was good.
