I've become a big believer in the XS Std Dot front sight on defensive revolvers. Started with an M&P340, then put same front sight on M60-9 which is my snubby range worker. Now I've picked up a 396-NG which also has the C&S combat U-notched rear sight. Sight picture aquisition under diversely varied lighting is so fast with the XS dot + U-notch set-up.
Which brings me to my ponderance and question: I snagged a 325-TR a while ago at a steal price which I thought I'd keep stashed at the house. Great shooter with .45ACP (my favorite since my primary carry is a 1911) and it allows ready attachment of a TLR-1 light for 0-dark:30 situations.
Has anyone modified the regular square-notch blade of a S&W adjustable rear sight to a U-notch, particularly for use with XS' great Std Dot front sight? I know I could swap in the C&S combat rear but it'd be beneficial to keep the OEM adjustabilty.
