summer carry/winter carry
Cleaned them both up today. Time to put the m36 (Desantis Nemesis pocket carry) in the safe for the winter (should have a couple months ago). Time to get out the m25-14 (Simply Rugged sourdough pancake OWB). Any one else care to share their current summer/winter set up?

For me its very easy:
MOST OF THE TIME ( off duty ) I carry a Glock 23 with a spare magazine or one of the 3 inch 38/357's that I own. ( 65,66 or CS-1)
Sometimes I carry a 640/642 with one speed loader and a big Benchmade folder.

Glock 19 with +P 124gr JHP's in the Summer and either my 586 L Comp pre-lock or 686-4 plus seven shot for Winter. I figure the magnums offer a little better penetration for winter.

Mine is a model 38 or 638 year around, but then I don't go to places that are damgerous anymore. At age 64 I lead a pretty sedate life, and 30 years of law enforcement (ret. '97) taught me how to stay out of trouble. Best to all this holiday season.

For my morning walks I carry a Glock 19 in a Blackhawk waistpack.
For other out and about trips it's a G19 or G34 in a Raven Concealment Systems Phantom worn IWB, and a 642 in a pocket holster in the weakside front pocket. For trips to the city I add a second 642 in a pocket holster in the strongside front pocket.
Around the house, it's a 642 in a pocket holster.
This is my routine regardless of season.

Although I certainly used to carry differently based on summer vs. winter, I am now carrying a Model 12 with +P 158gr HP Nyclad most of the time. When I feel some responsibility for others, I substitute a 2" Model 15 for the 12, and occasionally add a 642 on the ankle. I consider the Model 15 a real gun with a fairly decent cartridge. If I leave the area for an extended period, I will usually take a Colt Series 80 with appropriate ammo in a bunch of mags. Other than that, my real guns are mostly for play.

A model 37 in a pocket holster all the time unless I'm wearing suit pants then a Kel Tec P3AT. Every great once a while a 6906 or 3914 IWB.

I carry a Kel-Tec PF-9 with a knife clip as much as possible. Still waiting for that special model 64 snub to come into my life.

I'm with Jimmyj--crossdraw in the winter for a 686 or a Colt 1911. Pocket carry a 642 in the summer and as a BUG in the winter......
