I recently put a S&W Model 686-6 Plus on layaway at my local gun shop. Then I took some guns to consign there and brought home the 686. I took it to the range two days ago; two targets; first 7 shots at 3 yards (I know close enough to burn the paper but ...) very nice. Second target includes the 3 yard group, then 7, 15, and a cylinder full at 25 yards. I like it enough that I'm carrying it now. The Delta Elite has been customized by Chuck Warner of Elite Warrior Armament to give it a retro MEU SOC clone look. It has a match barrel, old school King's barrel bushing, other goodies. It shoots as good as it looks. Cellphone pictures, not the greatest...
I'd call it a tack driver - but - one of these days I will create a challenge for all those who say there gun is a tack driver! Imagine, a thin plywood target, 5 tacks (thumb tacks or carpet tacks), a reasonable range, 10 shots to drive those tacks! What do you think?
