629-4 Performance Center Identification
I have a Performance Center 629-4 with the original box , unfortunately , the end label is missing from the box. I have a Standard Catalog of S&W 3RD edition but am unable to find this EXACT variation listed. I have completed the application for a factory letter but would like to find out what variation this one is if possible while I'm waiting...
It has the following options : 6 inch slab sided Magna-Ported barrel with removable weights , unfluted cylinder , Round butt , Trigger has a non adjustable overtravel pin , blue Performance Center Plastic box , pictures attached. Any help greatly appreciated.

629-4
After doing a google search , found this from Gunshopfinder.com...
"The Smith and Wesson 629 Light Hunter is one of the most popular revolvers in the Performance Center line. Specifically made for hunting, the 629 Light hunter features a compensated 7 1/2" barrel, removable scope mount, adjustable sights, and weather-resistant stainless steel construction." Has wrong barrel profile and length...

629-4
You may be on to something there. It is not one of the RSR versions because of the serial number - PCH0080
I appreciate the help and will continue to search while waiting for the letter.

I have the 45 Colt version of that revolver, a 625-6. It has a fluted cylinder and integral barrel weight system. It should also have a ball detent type extra lockup feature on the front of the crane. They are listed in the SCSW but I don't have the exact details at hand. I'm not sure yours is a "Light Hunter". As I recall, those had a slimmer under barrel configuration ahead of the ejector rod. Mine is extremely accurate and I imagine yours will be as well.

Interesting barrel shape. It looks like the one on my Stealth Hunter married the barrel on the 6.5 inch 500 and had offspring!
