Default Stocks on Model 22 Classic

Just bought a Mod. 22 Classic and to be honest the stocks look like plastic although S&W says they are Altamont wood. Is that another term for plastic made by the altamont company? Revolver looks fine but have not shot it yet.

Just got one too. Looks like some kind of mystery wood. Took mine off and replaced them with an old set of square butt magnas. Much better look and feel.

Mike"

That's exactly what I intend to so also. Have several sets of N magnas to play with.

Altamont makes good grips, at a good price......which is probably why S&W uses them as OEM grips on their "Classic" revolvers. They use some kind of laminate or pressed wood.

I think their target grips are butt ugly, but I like the Altamont "Magnas".
