My first .327 was a Ruger SP101, which I got back in 2008 and I liked the cartridge so much I picked up a 632 (3" Carry Comp) even though I didn't like the compensated barrel that much. After that I added a Charter Arms Patriot, also in .327 and currently, well since April, have the newer S&W 632 on order, Stainless, 2.5" bbl, night sights & enclosed hammer.
I wish S&W would have came out with the newer version first, but the compensated 632, which I did carry for about 6 months, does well as a range gun and is what ours is now primarily used for, that and as a stashed "house gun."
The new 632, when it comes in, will eventually replace one of my Wife's 642's as her primary carry gun.
With that said, my favorite of the three we currently have would have to be the S&W, with the Ruger a close 2nd.
After an already 8 month wait I'm beggining to wonder if I'll ever be able to add to this photo.......

This is what drives me crazy!! The company is so slow in getting the revolvers to market. And why is a hammerless share the same model number as the one with a hammer?
Having gone off on that rant, I would of bought one of the stainless 632's except for the dang hole where the front sight should be. I have thought of buying a model 631 barrel and putting it on the 632 in order to get rid of the hole!!

Good questions, ones I've asked myself on more than one occasion. It's also driving me crazy too!
When I bought my S&W back in '09 the Model number also had a name attached, 632 Carry Comp, but a few months after I noticed the Carry Comp part was dropped............

I bought one of the first 632's that were available. The revolver had several problems that resulted in very poor accuracy.
After a trip back to S&W the problems appear to be sorted out and the accuracy is greatly improved. I'm liking the revolver and the cartridge.

How about an N frame in 327 Mag. That would fit like...what......10 rounds? That would be cool! I have the Ruger SP101 and I am going to be selling/trading it. I just cannot stand the Ruger trigger pull and the diamond rough hammer.

Joe, it's not that I don't like it per se, it's been very reliable and since it's noticeably lighter in weight than the other two it's my main yard, critter gun. The thing about the Charter Arms is that the edges are much sharper so isn't as user friendly when it comes to handling it. If it were de-horned it would be a very nice Revolver, for the money that is.
I know that when I have the grips off of the Patriot for cleaning I have to watch myself when working in the grip area of the frame, those edges are definitely sharp enough to cut me pretty bad, which I have almost done.
I wouldn't have any qualms about recommending the Charter Arms to someone, especially if they were looking for a lightweight Revolver. If weight weren't an issue and they were looking for another, lower cost, alternative to the S&W then the Ruger SP101 would be my top recommendation. I installed a 10 lb. Wolff Mainspring in my Ruger (I still have a 9 lb. I haven't tried yet) and it made a world of difference over the stock trigger pull weight, which was pretty tough.

I agree with Ogilvyspecial about the sharpness of the charter arms. I handled a LNIB 4 inch model and the cylinder release cut my finger when I went to open the cylinder. The release does not have the screw enclosed, it forms the rearward edge. The other part it screws into is very sharp. Sorry I do not know the exact words for these parts. I stood there thinking, "Would a S&W release fit on this thing"??

I have a 632-1 in stainless steel and I like it a lot. The 327 caliber is really nice and it shoots all the other 32 calibers as well.
I wasn't too thrilled that it came with the PowerPort package, but once I got it, I found I liked it. I was expecting a big flash of light out of the top when firing full 327 loads, but that hasn't happened. The only time the muzzle flash has been noticeable is when I was shooting Federal 32 H&R Magnum rounds!
Fun gun.

I never thought the 3" 63 would get here, either. It was advertised starting before the 2" 632. I picked my 3" 63 up the day before Thanksgiving - maybe there is hope yet for the snubbier 632!
