Just purchsed this 29, 6" from private party - no papers, box, etc. Can anyone tell me anything about it? Ser. No. TJA4013.

The Classic DX's are some of the most accurate revolvers that S&W ever produced, so you have a great gun.

They were only produced in '91 & '92. Product code 101272 Your gun has a 6.5" barrel by the way.

I thought the only DX's were the 629's and 686's, I didnt know they made them in blued 29's.

My estimate is $700 to $850. If as NIB, complete with numbered box, papers, tools, facyory target, both sets of grips (wood and rubber) and the five interchangable front sights - than more towards the upper end. If only a 98% gun - more toward the lower figure. The five inch models are seen less often.
