Part # For rubber S&W 500 grips for a 329ng?
I was wondering if anyone had the part number, or even better a link to the S&W 500 rubber houge grips that will work on my S&W 329 Night Guard. As I have heard these will help with recoil when shooting magnum loads on these light n frames.
Also if someone has any pics with these grips on a night guard that would be great!

Thanks! I was told these were pretty large grips. Anybody have any recommendations on good rubber grips around the factory size as i'm using this gun for ccw.

I have a 329NG on order (been really slow getting here), and have been wondering myself what I will do for grips.
Pachmayrs give a great solid hold and they are compact, but they don't have any recoil absorption to speak of. On the other hand, the X-frame grips absorb recoil nicely but are huge....which completely defeats the purpose of having a compact short barreled ultralight gun. And, the standard S&W N-frame rubber grips have a bare metal backstrap, an absolutely idiotic feature seen throughout the S&W lineup (the logic of which I have never been able to figure out!)...plus they are huge too. Would be nice if Hogue came out with a comprehensive lineup of more compact versions of recoil absorbing grips for S&W!
Ruger has had its grip technology together for years now. All the DA revolvers have excellent Hogue "Tamer" grips now (even the bottom of the lineup LCR), except for the SP101 (which still has the old style rubber grips with wooden inserts). Wish S&W would get on the bandwagon!

Unless S & W altered the grip frame on the 329 PD, it is an N frame and the 500 X frame has the same dimensions as the K.
The covered backstrap Pachmayrs (Decelerators?) will cushion better, but they are big and make the trigger reach longer.

I have the Model 500 Impact Absorbing Hogue Square Butt Conversion Grips on both of my 629s and my 686s. They also came stock on my X-Frame .460. They fit all well and make all of them feel the same in my hands. The dual density rubber and the covering of the backstrap makes shooting all of those guns pleasant. My oldest son is also considering them for his 329 NG. How they work for CCW, I wouldn't know......but they are big and sticky.

They fit. There is a void under the covered backstrap.

Interesting that Gunblast reviewed the Compacs as being pretty good, even on the magnum NightGurads. I have a set on an old M66, and they aren't all that great at absorbing recoil, but they are many years old. Perhaps the grips have been redesigned since then???
