Default 627 PC Holster and moon clip holder advice

Hello all. I am new to the forum and am in need of help. I am an avid 1911 and rifle shooter, but have gotten bitten by the love of the wheel gun. I have a 627 PC with 5in barrel on my night stand, but haven't been able to take it out really when I go camping or hunting. I am looking for a non concealable holster, pretty much in any type of carry that doesn't impede walking for several hours and a method of carry for my moon clips that I bought. Any help would be appreciated, because many of the other forums I am on only have generic answers which haven't solved my problems or hypothetical answers. I would prefer to get some info from people that have actually carried one. Thanks.

I'm fairly new here myself - but welcome aboard! :-) I just got a 627 Pro-Series, so I've spent a lot of time searching for holsters and moonclip accessories myself recently.

Here are a couple holsters made specifically for your gun...

Product: RH Tan Leather Thumb Break Scabbard For S&W PC M627 5"

Product: RH Tan Leather Dual Angle Holster For PC M627 5"

And here are a couple options that I like for moonclip holders...

I have these and really like them...
California Competition Works Moon Clip Belt Holder for 8 Shot Full Moon Clips Blue Aluminum Center Steel Silver - MidwayUSA

I dont have this one, but I'm working on building my own using Kydex...
North Mountain Moon Clip Holder, Single Post

If you dont have a moonclip tool yet, I highly recommend this one...

Good luck!

I have had a company called Looper Leather make up some 45 ACP moonclip holders for duty use. I haven't got them in hand yet, but I expect to have them next week. I sent Looper 2 loaded MC's and they made up the duty gear for me and my Chief Deputy.
If you are looking for something like that, I suggest contacting Lisa Looper and talking to her.

I use the Hoppner & Schumman Speed Sec holster sold by Competion(Competitive?) Edge Dynamics. I fits any S&W revolver - K,L or N frame. The Ranch Products moonclips are excellent and cost ca. $75 per 100.

Thanks for the info guys. You all are definitely more in tune with revolvers than the guys on the other forums, at least I feel like I am getting some solid info.

Here is another option if you're looking for something that will work well for hiking, camping or backpacking...

Guides Choice Chest Holster, Original Alaskan Holster

They have other designs as well (hip holsters).

I dont see your specific gun listed but I'm sure they have somthing that would work. I'd just give 'em a call and chat.
