What are the wood grips that come with S&W 627 PC?
Just curious what the actual brand wood grips that come with S&W 627 PC guns. How much do they usually go for? Can't seem to find em anywhere. Thanks.

Altamont makes a lot of S&W's grips. Look back over the various postings, or do a SEARCH for such grips. There's been a lot of postings on this subject. There are also a lot of other companies who will make you grips, many of who's owners are members here on the forum. Best of luck.

If you speak to someone in the Performance Center, they will tell you that the part # is 414170000, but they had no price on them, since they had none available. They referred me to Altamont, who makes these walnut grips. Calling Altamont was not very helpful, as they were unable to cross reference the S&W part number. The Altamont rep knew the grip I was asking about, but they apparently had just done a run for Smith and he had none available, as this is a non-catalogued item. He said to check back, but I came across a new pair at a local gun show. The guy said they came off a 629 that was there on his table. These grips have flatter panels than the old Smith factory combats. It appears that Smith has also cut costs and left off the medallions. Does your pair have any markings on the inside? I have two pairs of these, and they are both unmarked on the inside panels.

Altamont is under contract with S&W, and will not sell you the exact model grip themselves, no matter what they say. I've tried to get them directly from Altamont for our Forum Members to no avail. Even tried to get them to do a J-Frame one. Everything they sent me was "not what we discussed or ordered". I'm still trying to get back money from them. The grip in the picture you linked us to does not appear to be one of the "standard" grip used by the Performance Center, which Altamont is currently supplying S&W. Here is the current one which is S&W Product Code: 414170000. The one in the link must have a different Sku #, as it does not have the "Laser burned in S&W Emblem".
The one above sells for $49.00 plus shipping from S&W. They have had a real "run" on this particular grip from Forum Members & have run out several times. If you're interested in this one call S&W & go on their "back order list". I've gotten 3 of these & only once went on the "back order" list for a couple weeks. Maybe Altamont is making that one, just don't recognize it. They do make very good grips.
I've sold the Boot Grips which came on my 627s to other Members, for around $25.00 each here on the For Sale Forum.
Again there a lot of "outstanding" grips made by Forum Members here.
All the best.

Not to randomly resurrect an old thread but I'm very happy that this one is here in the archive. I picked up a used 629PC 2 5/8 (in basically new condition) recently and it only came with rubber Hogue monogrips. Just got off the phone with S&W customer support and I have a nice set of the above wood grips incoming at the still incredibly low price of $49 plus shipping. Originally I thought I'd have to spring for the expensive Eagle grips to dress it up but I honestly like the looks of these better anyway. Thanks for the information guys!
