Default Question on N-Frame round butt conversion to square butt

I have a question on round butt conversion to square butt grips for my 325 PD. In looking at different grips Houge claims the best grip for the conversion is a one piece with the screw in the bottom.

They say that a two piece conversion is inferior.

The link:
Hogue, Inc. | www.getgrip.com | The finest gun grips, rifle stocks and accessories

Grips I like with Houge:
N Rd. Conver. Coco Bolo [25802] - $79.95 : Hogue Inc., The Best Value In Handgun Grips, Rifle Stocks and Accessories - Bar None!

Here is a two piece that I like:
Ahrends Grips : Revolvers

Also another makers suggestions would be helpful.

Your thoughts and comments would be appreciated.

I like two piece wood grips...that is, when they fit properly. If you order two piece wood grips, they might fit too loose. It's just a toss of the dice.

I don't have experience with one-piece wood grips but I like the idea. I know the Hogue one piece rubber grips always fit nice and snug.

I only have one "N" frame S&W gun with a round butt and I have Eagle Heritage round to square two piece rosewood gips on it. They happened to fit perfectly on my S&W. However, they were too expensive for the quality of the finish plus the monograms were not even located correctly.

I like the two piece grips. I have never found a problem with the fit but I only purchase USA made grips not India, China or others.

Ahernds and Hogue grips both will work fine on your gun -- I have a number of S&W revolvers and use both kinds -- I like the Ahernds a little better but that is just a personal choice -- Just pick the one that suits your taste and enjoy

I have Arhends on my 625 (round to sq. conversion) they are a joy to shoot, and fit tight on the frame.

I assume if you buy the two piece grips you need to remove the swivel screw thing at the bottom inside of the frame.

Thanks for the reply and suggestions.

I like either. Here is a set of herrett roper style conversion grips that are two piece on my 610.

Also have houge 1 piece conversion grips that fit well that I like on my 625

The type of grips I like the most are the bill Jordan style but you have to have big hands.

I had ahrends before but they were a little on the thin side for me since I have large hands.

I really like the Hogue one piece grips. That said, they say it is superior to the two piece designs because they are trying to sell the one piece design. As long as the grips are of equal quality, I see no reason one would be any better than the other. Comes down to personal preferance.

Who makes the round-square finger groove combat on S&W's website?

Default I like the Eagle Heritage...

Yup they are a little pricey ($132 shipped for this set) but they fit well and reduce the painful "S&W Thumb" commonly resulting from thinner stocks.

The fingergroove one piece stocks don't fit my hand.

Woah! Look nice, but too big for my small hands. I use service grips on all my S&W's with the Tyler inserts.
