Is this 627 "bloodwork" ***Update***

Interesting C&L,

That one was probably Clint Eastwood's actual gun, & then they made 302 more for Horton. That one is the really valuable one.

I am now the new owner (or at least in 10 days after the background check) of an original bloodwork!!! I was able to meet up the seller today at the gun shop to do the transfer. I originally meet the friend of the owner at the gun show in San Francisco who was selling this for his friend. Got the phone number of his buddy since I did not have the money at the time. I paid $1200 for it today. I am as happy as can be. Never thought I would be owning this revolver, especially here in CA. I took a few picture with my cell before the gun went to jail. And yes, you are seeing it correctly, it is serial number 007!!!

Congratulations! You did great on the price. I hope to own one some day. I can never find them at a reasonable price (which I consider $1,500 or less). Pretty cool that it's such a low serial number, too.

I am glad that it worked out for you.
That is a very good price on it. Congratulations.:D

hmmm...wonder why my serial number prefix is different than the other original BW guns?

That's a good question, I believe yours is the only one I've seen/heard of with that prefix. Perhaps a letter from S&W is in order?

Congrats on your find, that's a great deal and it looks to be in excellent shape.

Okay I have a silly question. If S&W came out with a run of revolvers where the hammer didn't properly rest into the frame and it wasn't connected to a Clint Eastwood movie character...?!

I'm just sayin'

The movie didn't come out until 2002, well after these revolvers had become quite popular. The movie, of course, just put them over the top. :)
