Default New 360J

After eyeing the little beast for quite a while, I decided what the heck and bought a Limited run of the this SW 360J 357 revolver. The 360J has been around a while in 38 and 357, but this scandium framed beaut has the stainless cylinder, hammer etc. Gotta say, it packs a wallop!

I enclose a pic of the gun as delivered from Davidson's, I added a set of Secret Service grips, and later put on a front night sight. It has been on me every day for almost two months. I carry the Hornady Lite Defense and six 357's as backup in a Bianchi speedstrip.

I have been on the range with it having shot 50 rds 38 and 20 rounds 357. Did not shoot for accuracy yet, but really like the hammer and so far there has not been an issue carrying the thing in either my pocket or in a belt holster. I have had hammerless and still do, but the hammer seems to suit me better.

I have the poor man's .38 version - they cannot be beat! I liked the grip style so much that I've bought two more copies of the same grips...

Mine is the .38 version. I liked the factory grip but wanted one a little shorter and went with a set of Hogue Bantam G10s.

GeoJelly what model of S&W is that?

I'm in the market for a new snub .38 but cannot afford the 360J.

Thanks

Yeah, that's the "2-Tone" .357 Mag version 360J with the Sc/Al alloy frame, bright stainless steel cylinder, bright hammer/trigger/cylinder release & red ramp front sight.

I replaced the factory black rubber grips with a set of black Badger boot grips for everything but at the range.

There I use a set of Pachmayr Diamond Pro grips on it.

A healthy load of Power Pistol under Rim Rocks 158gr very soft lead hollow-points is what I keep on-hand just for it.

Great little revolver.

Nice revolver! Please, what are the rounds in that speedloader? They're too short to be .38 Spls. Perhaps .38 Short Colt?

Thanks for the input and I too noticed the rounds? I don't usually like the bling, but for some reason doesn't seem to bother me with this gun. Maybe it is the off set of the shiny hammer?

Great gun.
I have the .38 spl. version Buds was selling about 7 years ago. It's so light, I can wear it with draw string elastic waist shorts. I've got a Hogue light weight grip on mine loaded with some gold dots.

Here's mine.

Greetings sir - those indeed are .38 SC's - factory. I have since started reloading for it - most recent being 110-g Speer GDHP's. I like the .38 SC because they're quicker to load (reduced grip interference) and a lot smaller than .38 Spec's to carry a speedloader.

Grimjaws - S&W confused this old person with their model #'s - mine is also a 360J ... if I had good sense and more income - I'd have the .357 version!! ...

Tis a fuzzy image but that's a factory .380 next to it.

I have what was the poor man's version .38 special.

It has now been converted to 9mm Moon Clips by TK Customs and sports an XS Standard Dot sight.

I like the old school Bianchi Lightning (brown was the only color I could find at the time) Grips because they conceal the hammer and dampen the 9mm recoil on such a light gun.

Interesting grips! Mine gun is also using standard XS sights. I failed to mention that I also fired several 38 Supers through this gun. I had some left in the safe and thought what the heck. These too carry a wallop, and after 40 rds had no misfires. Recoil somewhere between the 357 125gr and 38 130gr. But don't tell the purist out there. Ha
