Default Model 10-10 snubby from Gun Show

I went to the gun show in Marlboro MA today I found a Model 10-10 with a 2 in barrel (K frame), it had been reblued with a matte finish. I have never seen a snubby model 10 before.
First I was wondering if they made snubby's in the Model 10-10 (Serial BEH2705) or could someone have changed barrels?
Short of a factory letter, is there anyway I could find out the barrel length the gun was shipped with?

Looks like a barrel from a Model 15 with the front sight altered.Regarding barrel length, factory letter would be the only way to tell.

That could explain why it is shooting low, the front sight is too high.

I put 50 rounds through it this afternoon, seems nice.

I was thinking of filing down the front sight until I get it to shoot where I want it.

I paid $250 for it so as long as it won't blow up I won't mind using a file on the front sight.

One thing I noticed is the gap between the back of the barrel and the face of the cylinder, it is not tight against the cylinder but there is a gap.
It is not as tight as my 581 or my 686, it is however on par with my m36 and several of my Victory models.
I checked them with a business card and the 581 the card slides in with fair resistance, while on the new snubby model 10 and the victory's and the M 36 they all allow it to slip in with some feel of resistance but not that much, I can still feel the card slide in.

When I shot it there was a fair muzzle blast and seemed to be some "flare" blast to the sides from the gap (?)
