Default Thoughts on Model 60 Pro

I just picked up my new Model 60 Pro last week and just had a chance to shoot it.

My impressions, good and bad.

Good:
1) Trijicon front night sight- small dot helps me with precision
2) Wood grips look great and allow me a good handle on this small gun
3)Very cool look with the wedge barrel
4) 3'' barrel helps with 357 load control and allows me better hits than with my 1 7/8'' J frames
5) Trigger is pretty good

Bad:
1) Small tritium dot is not the greatest in low light conditions- better than a black sight, but not as easy to pickup as my other night sights
2) Holsters are not as common for 3'' J frames and I think since the tritium dot is so small, the sight should be covered in a holster to keep it from getting covered with dirt / lint
3) Would be nice to have rear night sight too

All in all, a very nice carry piece with a full power cartridge. I like Remington Golden Sabers for these small 357s because the recoil is more manageable with a 125 grain at 1250fps than a full house load.

S&W has a Galco holster made for them on the S&W site - $65 - made for a 3" 60 - probably fit my new 3" 63, too.

The NS is dinky - and shaded by the thin ramp walls where they were cut-in for the Tritium sight. I'm looking for some fluorescent orange to paint the side walls and top with - I can't see the NS in the dark - or the bit of black sight left in daylight. Neat revolver!

I love my 60 Pro too -- a sweet shooter. I could stand a little reduction in the pull of the trigger but otherwise a very nice pistol. I have a Don Hume paddle holster for mine, catalog # 720 OT 3-3 (or so it looks on the suede backing.
