Default differences between M&P 360 and 360

What do you get with the M&P version that you do not get with the straight 360 besides a higher price? Night sights? better trigger?

I believe the M&P 360 has a steel cylinder, whereas the 360 has a titanium one. The M&P weighs a few ounces more.
If I'm wrong I'm sure I'll be corrected soon.

The M&P as a coated stainless cylinder, the budget 360 like Bud's is selling has a carbon steel cylinder.

The 360 M&P has the usual stainless cylinder with S&W's proprietary black coating instead of the titanium cylinder. The weight difference is 1.3 ounces, not much. But since S&W has, literally, thousands of SS cylinders, they can sell the M&P for less. I have a M&P 340 and welcome the extra ounce weight to help with the recoil. Bob!

M&P360 has a night front sight, stainless cylinder (1.9 oz heavier)

360PD has fiber optic front sight and titanium cylinder. Titanium is not cheap.

I don't think the OP is talking about the 360PD. Bud's is currently selling a plain jane 360 for $483, I think that's the one he is referring to. It has a blued steel cylinder.

Then I'll tell you that that gun is a steal at $483. I bought the .38spl version (360J) from Bud's for $409 2 1/2 years ago and it's been a terrific piece. I used it for a 9mm conversion project and carry it just about everyday as my back up and occasionally as my primary. It has held up extremely well, if I was in the market I wouldn't hesitate to buy one of the new ones.

Default Shipped today

Mine shipped today. Does that model in fact have the carbon steel cylinder, because S&W website states that the cylinder on that model is also stainless just as the m&p,.

Check with Talo but it wouldn't be $483 with a stainless cyl.

The SKU on the one from Bud's is 160357 and the SKU on the web-site listing from S&W for the SS cylinder is 163074. These are two different animals. As stated, the former is with a Carbon-steel cylinder and the latter is with a Stainless-steel cylinder.

A magnet check could tell you if yours is carbon-steel or not....but, it would depend upon the grade of stainless used by S&W, as some grades exhibit magnetism.

Thanks for pointing that out.

I was not aware they made a 360 that wasn't a PD or M&P until today.
