Default New bodyguard revolver have the lock?

Looks like a nice little piece, but can I assume it has the lock? They are not even proud of it, the do everything they can in their advertising to hide it, or fail to mention it. I guess if it only comes with the lock, then I'll have to find a 642 or 442 without one.

LOL! Well... I could swear I saw one on the display model but I could be wrong as I didn't look too close. Not much interested in plastic J frames.

The examples I examined at the gunshow Saturday did NOT have the lock.

Ugly? Check. Lousy triggers? Check. Overpriced for what they are? Check. Lock? NO. Regards 18DAI.

I checked S&W's website. The gun seems to be made of polymer, lower frame, alum upper frame and steel bbl and cylinder. No mention of a lock.

what is the difference between the bodyguard .38 and 442?

Seem to be similar size and weight. Body guard has crimson trace and it is plastic. 442 is metal alloy.

I don't get it. I must be missing something. thanks

Once you have the plastic job in your hand, you'll understand the difference.

the bodyguard 38 weighs 14.3 oz.

while the 442 weighs 15 oz.

I have held them both.....and I still don't get it?

This must be one of those if I have to explain it you wouldn't understand things.

The BG38 felt like a cheap toy to me. I would be afraid to give that pansy ejectory rod a good baby slap for fear of bending it!

there is a frame bolt right where the lock might be located. It looks kind of like the lock but is not one. There is no internal lock anywhere on this revolver.

We should all be out buying a new lockless 442 or 642 to show support for no lock revolvers. I'm saving for one right now. I'm up to $200 and trying to be patient.

Yep. No-lock 442 is next on the list.
