I just purchased a dx (the seller- not from here-was less then straight foward with respect to the condition) I have never done anything aside from standard cleaning of guns. The 629 has alot of scratches, I cant image what tails the gun could tell but it looks like it was slid accross the floor and used as a hockey puck. The seller said "great condition aside from a few small scratches" yeah a few hundred maybe..
Now that I have finished ranting, how do I remove these marks with out changing the finish of the gun? I know I could use a brasso or chrome polish but I dont want a mirror finish as I am afraid this will remove the smith markings from the gun. Can it be done and still retain the stock type satin look?
What are the steps and do you have pics of your results?
thanks in advance...and hopefully I can begin to restore the finish today..
thanks again
