Default Neighbor's new 6" 617

My neighbor was in my shop after dinner tonight. He has a key and is reloading his heart out on my LnL. I needed to check to see if he was doing OK, and he was.

Sitting on the bench was a brand new 6" 617. Unfired. He wondered if I still had that extra Wolff spring set I'd bought and if we could install it. We could.

Popped the side plate and removed the hammer and trigger. Pulled the rebound spring slide. Had him polish that on an Arkansas stone while I put a polish on some of the hammer and trigger spots. I left the sear alone as he had no idea how it was shooting, and I'm not real keen on fooling with that. I also hit the inside of the frame with 600 wet/dry sandpaper. 14 pound rebound spring, full power main spring, stoned, polished, lubed and reassembled. In about an hour. Very sweet D/A, delightful S/A.

I have the 4", and prefer it for balance. He likes the 6" for sight picture.

He'll be putting Ahrends retro combat grips on it in the near future.

I'll be moving to Oregon when I retire. Can I be your neighbor?

Shoot in good health.

You might not like Oregon's gun laws.

Open carry is allowed by the State, some issues with local city ordinances.

Shall issue ccw law.

No waiting period to obtain firearms. There is a State background check. It has been $10, but is going up to $45 ish.

Right to use deadly force, which means there is a dead body, not just a deadly weapon, to defend against residential burglary, attempted use of deadly force against you, or attempted commission of a person felony against you.

Oh, it rains here some. Potential rust issues.

Great job. Great trigger can be had with very little effort.
