Smile Revolver Safties ?

I have a 638 that has a safety on the side of the frame next to the cylinder latch. It hasn't given me any problems but I worry that it could hang up at a critical time. Is S&W making any revolvers that don't have the key lock safety? Thanks,Dale

there are some out and supposedly they are doing away with the locks on autos and hopefully revolvers too.

Several. Models 442, 642, 340, & 40 Classic can be had without the silly lock...just to name a few off the top of my head. There's more, I'm sure. I have a M442 without the lock and it's a great little pocket carry piece.

You can have the internal lock removed by a competent gunsmith, but my 638-3 has had no problems & I've fired several hot +P through it.
