Default 686 Purchase

Well, went and did it Tuesday. My LGS had a nice "Correction" 586-1 blued with a 6" barrel and Pachmyer grips. I put it on layaway the price was $450, which is probably a bit much. I am happy with the deal however. The gun is probably between 95-98% with no box or papers. Lockup is good with just a slight turn ring on the cylinder.

I will post pics when I get it out of layaway in a month or so. I have been wanting a revolver chambered in .357, and I wanted a shooter not a collector piece. Plus I wanted one I could carry some without worrying about messing up a really nice one. This fits the bill perfectly.

Marty

There were a few "midnight black" 686-3s made, but I think all the -1s were standard stainless (silver) guns. Did you get a blued 586-1?

I am probably wrong about the dash number. I will check it when I pick it up from lay-away in a month or so.

$450 is certainly a "go" price for the 686 as described. Good choice.

It sounds as if you have been ripped off! $450 for a 686? I feel so bad for you that I will offer to give you your money back by buying the gun from you for what you paid for it. If it is a dull blue black color and marked 686-3 then it is likely a midnight black stainless gun.

I am sure that you will, but this is 586-1 (i corrected my 1st post, don't know how to change the thread title). I am still happy with the deal.
