Will Smith and Wesson be making more Model 27s?
It seems that these fine revolvers are a scarce as hens teeth. Will they be making more?

They are making them right now. Several models in fact. Go to their web page.

They are making the 4" model in nickle and blue but they are only make 500 special edition 6.5" models. I want the 6.5" model 27. I guess I'll have to be ready when these babies come out. I wonder if they will be numbered 1-500?

There’s a ton of them out there, and I’d rather have a pre 27 or 27-2 than a new one any day. Just look through are own classifieds here, whatever your looking for will pop up before long.
Or contact :

Or

Either of these guys will hook you right up.

I saw a reblued 6" 27 today at a gun show for $450, not a bad deal for a shooter. If I weren't broke I would have taken a look at it.

I have the S&W model 27 in 357mag on my gotta have list with the 6" barrel in nickel finish. I may also go for the 4" barrel too. I notice there is a collectable M27 too being offered. I just want the standard M27 with no frills as a shooter. I don't see the 8 3/8" barrel for the m27/357mag nor do i see it offered in the M57 or M29 too. I'm kind of getting bored with the auto pistols and now its time to get some of my gotta have wheel guns. With S&W still offering most of there older, awesome classics today that are still in the revolver nitch i figure were lucky that these not discontinued. So we still have an oppertunity to get them. Bill
BTW; There's a "wish list", a "want list" and a "gotta have" list. The "gotta have" list is a list i can't do without, i gotta buy them. I have two of my gotta have's already.

Your information is not quite accurate.
There are currently three variations of the 6 1/2" model 27 available. The standard blue steel 6 1/2" revolver, the standard nickel plated 6 1/2" revolver, and the 75th anniversary of the 357 Magnum revolver.
The first two have been in production for a while and your local S&W dealer should be able to locate one for you without much trouble.
Only the Anniversary model 27 is limited to a run of 500 pieces. Yes the serial number range of the commemorative revolver is going to be SFY0001-SFY0500

I looked it up in the S&W Catalog and it says: Report of 110 Model 27-5s made for Lew Horton with 6" barrel and blue finish, "BPZ" prefix, 1997."
Does anybody else have one of these? I bought mine without a box, but know how to get in touch with the original owner. He may have it stashed away. Was it a presentation case, or a standard blue plastic box? Any info about this run?

Odds are it was a run made from left over parts. Lew Horton sold of many of these short runs for S&W. Most of the parts guns I have seen came in white cardboard boxes.
