Default Most accurate bullet for new 625 PC?

Would a clad bullet or Lazer-cast semi wadcutter all lead bullet be most accurate in the 625 pc?

Carl,
I've been told that 230grain hard cast bullets work very well in the 625PC. I'm sure other members will be along shortly that can recommend a specific brand.

How do you like the 625PC? I've been thinking about getting one for a while now. Any defects or issues with build quality?

James

This is a little hard to answer. Rainier lists 8 bullets that will work in your application.

In .451 they list:
185 FN & HP
200 RN, HP, SWC
230 HP & RN.

In .452 they list a 250 grain FN

In Lead I would look at Missouri Bullet Companys list.

Lots of competition shooters using plated. On Handgun Hunter Forum I have also read where plated are not as accurate as cast. Hunters shoot with scopes at much longer distances.

Then you have some other considerations to keep in mind. Are you planning on shooting in competition where you must reload quickly? SWC are not the best for speed loads, round nose are much better. SWC in 185 and 200 grain will probably be more accurate.

I have 45acp loaded in 185 swc, 200 scw, and 230 RN at the moment. We are shooting the 185 and 200's in 1911's and a XDm. We are shooting the 230 RN in our 625's for speed reloads. In our Defensive Pistol Match all shoot plenty accurate for the application.

If I were testing for accuracy I would probably look at a 200 SWC as my first stop.

I love it. The quality is there. You can see that the performance center went the extra mile to make sure that the action is smooth. The satin finish is nice and scratches are easy to remove with fine auto body type sandpaper. The original red white and blue grips are very confortable for me after I touched up the upper portion which I felt extended too high. Massad Ayoob reviewed this gun on pg. 8 of Guns Magazine, August 2010 edition and he liked it so much that he used it to win IDPA 1st Master and decided to buy it. As to how it shoots I'll have to let you know once the snow melts here in upstate NY.

Every gun has it's own likes and dislikes. What works well in one may not work at all in another. Only way to find out is to try them both and let the gun decide.
