686 4" Black Leather Holster?
Been looking all over the place for a belt holster but can't find it in black leather. I found a couple websites but the leather comes in tan, but I'm really looking for a black one.
Could anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks!

Depends on what you're looking for, but I know that El Paso Saddlery makes some very nice duty-style holsters (other styles, too) in black leather. I'm thinking of getting something from them (not in black, however) for my 66 no-dash.

Galco Silohuette high ride will work perfectly, it comes in black, and there are probably some hanging on a rack at a local gunshop.

Can you more closely say what you are looking for the holster to do? CCW? Field use?
On the field use side, I've found that my old duty rigs are AWESOME ways to carry all day. That is what they were made for and they work VERY well. You can find great quality Bianchi, Safariland, etc. here on the forum (robbt posts) or Ebay, as well as cartridge/speedloader pouches, knife cases, etc. Very reasonable pricing too, considering that you can get a full rig, with speedloader pouches (4), or cartridge slides for around $120.00 total. Or you could mix/match (black basketweave is very versatile in this regard as the pattern is almost identical, regardless of maker, with say...a 25 loop cartridge belt, holster, knife case for a tad more.) Point being, NOS cop leather for revolvers abounds, if you search it out. And it WORKS.
You might also think of calling/asking the maker of ANY product if they'll make in black for you. Just because something is not listed on a site, don't assume it's not available. If the maker offers ANYTHING in black, often times they'll make you what you want.
Hope this helps.

Holster
About 3 weeks ago I received my black Milton SParks holtser for my SW 686 with 3 inch barrel. Talk about patience - ordered last August - shipped March. I have been experimenting with this being my primary carry gun. It won't work well during summer. It is an awesome holster, and awesome handgun.

Make your best deal and buy a bottle of black shoe dye, which is what they use. Or, you could go to tandy and ask them what you need. Strip the surface with isopropal alcohol and put several coats and let them sit for several hours or overnight in between. Flapjack

Bulman Gunleather makes a holster called the TJS. I got one about a year ago for my 4" 686. It's black leather & seems to be extremely well-made. Check out their website; they make a lot of different models. The last time I checked, they were trying to catch up on their orders & weren't taking new orders. They might be caught up now.

I have a black one made by DeSantis. You could do a search,I don't know who is stocking one.
By the way, I like your user name.
