Finally found a 617 no dash
I have been searching the gun shows for a 617 no dash for a long time. Well this weekend I found two of them at a new gun show here in San Antonio. I purchased the better of the two which had the better price. The 617 came with the original box, paperwork and cleaning kit. How do you like it?

Very nice, they seem to be getting harder to find these days. It looks like your wait paid off.
Enjoy!

Nice, and the kicker about the no dash 617s is that they come with $100 set of combats, unlike the later versions.

Beautiful revolver. I prefer the 4" version, and like you I searched for a while before I found exactly what I wanted. Worth the wait.

I wasn't looking for one, but I found one at the local gun shop (no dash with original grips, box, papers, and tools) on consignment for $650. Hmmm...I ask that they call the owner with an offer of $575 OTD. Owner says Ok if its cash. So it came home with me. When I got it to the range, I found it was shooting several inches high with a variety of ammunition brands. I tried filing the rear sight some, but I coundn't get the difference I needed, so I sent it back to the factory. Their invoice said "replaced rear sight" but I think the front sight blade was changed out also. Anyway, it has become one of my favorites, and I already had a 17, an 18 and a 41. Great shooter, accurate even with less expessive ammunition (Federal bulk pack shoots very well) and very smooth action. Mine is the 4" barrel, six round model. Congratulations on yours and I hope you have as much fun with it as I do with mine.

Congrats on your find.
Did those grips come on it? I bought one just like it a while back with the combats without the box. I really like it, I am sure you will also.
