Default M 64 Range Day

My Gun Broker 64-3 Project Gun is progressing nicely. First came a little polishing and a Wolfe spring kit. I then decided to see just how good Bright Sights, High Visibility Gun Sight Coatings worked. I first cleaned the front sight post and degreasered it with brake cleaner. I then applied the GREEN Bright Sights coating to the upper app. 1/2 of the sight blade in 4 seperate applications.
We had our monthly Defensive Pistol match today. I was shooting in SSR Division. The Green Sight Coating worked out great shooting the cardboard IDPA Silhouettes. I was very impressed with the results. The Green painted front sight really showed up nicely. If I had not already gotten my 1911 Novak Fiber Optic Front sight for the 64, I would be tempted to stay with the Green Paint, it worked that well. I was highly impressed with how visible the front sight was.

I got in my Safariland Comp II, and Comp III Speedloaders from Midway for the K Frame this week. I had no experiance with Safariland Comp II or III speedloaders before today. I have mostly used HKS Speedloaders over the years. The HKS speedloaders have always worked pretty well for me. The Comp II's worked a little faster than the HKS at the range today. The Comp III's work even better yet. If I were ordering again after my experiance today, I would have gotten all Comp III loaders.

Well after I get the front Fiber Optic Sight installed, I guess chamfering the chamber mouths will about finish it up.
And the 64-3 project continues.

Wink

It's hard not to love something as sweet as the M-64. I currently have three of them, all a little different. But all have excellent triggers, and when I want to relax and burn some powder, I grab one of them and head for the range.

I've thought about having better front sights installed, older eyes don't do too well with stainless sights on stainless guns. Photos of your setup might help me decide if your setup is what I'm looking for..........(hint, hint.)
