625 Model of 1989 front sight question
I want to replace the Patridge front sight on my 625 with a fiber optic. Cylinder and Slide makes pin-in replacements, but the two they offer are .250 and .300. The Patridge is .275. Since the sight is currently raised a bit, I'm thinking I should order the .250 sight.
Any suggestions or thoughts? This is the only replacement I could find. Thanks.

Sights
If your rear sight is raised a bit with the .275" Patridge, I'd suggest getting the .30 FO. If you go with the .25" you might find the rear sight is bottoming out. The .30" should give you more range of adjustment if you try different velocities of ammo.

As if I need to say it, Iowegan is correct. I just replaced the front sight on my 625-3 with the .30" fiber optic version, and a half-click of the elevation screw put me right back on target. I passed on the .25" model for exactly the reason Iowegan mentioned. The whole process took about ten minutes, even for a ham-handed Bubba like me.

Would this info be good for an '06 25-13 I just got? I need good low light sights but not sure what what would be the best, it's for heavy forest and twighlight

Sorry moose, the fiber optics do best with some pretty good light. They won't help a lot for your application. Try some red fingernail polish first and see if that helps.

I talked with the tech at Cylinder and Slide, who makes (or at least sells) a replacement. He also said .300 tall, and I ordered one, along with the C&S long firing pin and target spring set.

I have tritium sights on some of my carry/defense pistols and also have it on my 327 Night Guard. They don't show up much in low light as opposed to dark. The white ring around the tritium helps though.

From the SDM website.
If your front sight is .278" and you go to a .300" front sight you will need to raise your rear sight .022".
If your front sight is .278" and you go to a .250" front sight you will need to lower your rear sight .028".
