I stopped in my local gun shop Saturday near closing...and came across this beauty that had just been traded in.
I asked my friend (the owner) to set it aside for me. I picked her up today and tried her out. I am very, very happy!
A 686 no-dash (with the "M" repair) 6" barrel with a very solid and unusual mount and Ultra-dot red dot.
The mount allows the use of the iron sights!
Also notice the Houge Rosewood grips.
The scope was zeroed, and as you can see, she shot very well.
A couple of questions for the forum:
1) Anyone know the manufacturer of the red dot mount? There is no name on it at all. It is very well made and you have full access to the irons, plus you can adjust them as well.
2) One small problem. One of the cylinder alignment pins for the star ejector is missing. It doesn't affect function, but is it possible to get a replacement from Brownell's for example? Are they easy to install? Is it just a friction fit or do you loc-tite them in?
I paid $375 out-the-door. I do a lot of business with my local dealer/pusher. He throws me a bone now and then. I am happy!
