Default WTK- Value of Model 66-1 6 1/8 th inch barrel?

Hi,
My buddy has a M66-1( I would say she is 99%) said he fired a box of .38's thru her. The barrel measures 6 1/8, has all the three T's. It has the box and all the acces. Is the barrel length rare? I measured it three times.......

What would you pay? Have to make a decision today!!

Thanks
Will

The "Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson" mentions the 6-inch barrel being more like 5-7/8 inches and the 6-1/8" barrel bringing a slight premium, 20% I believe. (guess I could go look it up!) My brother has a M66, no-dash with the longer barrel. It's very accurate!

Personally I'd like to get it at $450 - $500, maybe $550 - I'd have to see it.

I'd likely trip the trigger on that one. Go for it.

I think I am going to , will see him later today. Plus, every time I buy something he "remembers" he has something else to sell. I guess he has a lot of S&W's, his Dad owned a gun store and collected Colts and S&W's for awhile......
