I hope all is back to normal and everyone who paid already get theirs too.
For me, I am a little "gun" shy right now. |
Right after I posted, I saw that REB 133 began a new thread stating he had sent Tyler a money order on 8/24 and received his product on 8/30. That is indeed a quick turnaround, and as you say they may finally have turned the corner.
I can only presume he ordered a part number that does not have a waiting list. I would hate to think they shipped a new order at the expense of an older one having to wait even longer. Glad you got your product. I may even have to get one to try on my M38. The Hogue's feel nice, but boy are they big. |

Read; Tyler T Grip Company Shutdown thread. I received my J Frame grips today.
|
I've used T Grips for many, many years on my J Frames. For me, nothing compares to a magna, or a Barami Hip Grip and a Tyler grip on a J Frame, be it my M649, M60, or any of my airweights.

I'm glad I found this thread. I was wondering why prices on eBay jumped on these. I hope everyone posts whether or not they have received their backorders. I was about to place an order, but am always wary when I have to send out a check, with little recourse if I don't get what I ordered. I've been burned before, by a dealer with whom I had a successful transaction, who decided to take my money the second time around and never deliver...

Ordered 1 in Nov of 2010, recieved my order today. I
wrote this off in April, so it's a nice surprise. Chipmunk6 |
I had ordered a couple back in March or April, and got them a few weeks ago. I too had written them off.
I plan to order a couple more in a few weeks. |
The 3 T-grips, black N-frame, black square butted K-frame and a brushed aluminum for a round butted K-frame, I ordered last November arrived today.
|
Wow; things are really looking up. Cheers to the new owner! :)
|
They are back . . . tied to a "newly found" half-brother to my nephew in Oklaholma City; have it on good word that supplies should resume and hopefully some assemblance of credibility restored.
|
I received my order placed in April. The quality of the grips are just as good as before.
|
I've moved on to BK adapters for my Smith's but I needed an adapter for a Colt Police Positive Special -- I noticed Tyler's new wesite listed them as being in stock -- I mailed a check on Thursday 1st September -- got a call this morning (3rd Sept) checking on it and was told it would be in the mail today -- Sounds like they may have their act togeather again -- I'll post when it gets here
|
I' glad for everyone involved, but if I happen to need another Grip adapter I will order from B.K. Grips. As another member noted Wrangler5 stepped up and filled a need when Tyler was not shipping.
I wish both B.K. Grips and Tyler the very best. |
Tyler T
Received my #3 T grip today after 7 months. I had given up any hope of ever receiving it but I think the new management is running the business as Melvin did. Tedog

New Production Tyler T-Grips
After all the news of the ownership change of Tyler Manufacturing and hearing about people who had begun receiving their old orders, I thought I would take a $30 gamble and order a T-Grip for my Model 66 no dash. I came really close to spending $100 on a 3R size on eBay a while back and I'm glad I didn't. It was approximately 4 weeks since I placed my order and I got the adapter in the mail today. Quality is very good and fit is right on the money. I've very happy that I took the chance on them and hope that my experience might convince others who are on the fence to go ahead and commit. Here are a couple photos of the no dash 66 with the T-Grip.

Good to hear. Those folks have been in such absolute disorder that I assumed they had collapsed for good. Hope the business recovers.
|
Good for you and good for them. Looks great! Nice pic's too!

Looks great! Nice combination, and nice pics, too. Glad it paid
off. TACC1 |
Good looking rig.
With Tyler back I guess the "Price Gouging" is coming to an end? |
thank the lord! im ordering one for my 38 bodyguard, your 66 looks great!
|
I just received the T-Grip that i ordered in January today. I had pretty much written it off, so was quite suprised!
|
That is a good looking revolver, and the T-grip really sets it off!
Nothing like a K-frame and a t-grip. |
Thanks fellas. I'm really pleased with the way they turned out and the way the changed the look of the pistol. A 2.5" Model 19/66 looks really cool with a T-Grip in my opinion. And it's such an easy thing to install and remove that I can't think of why everyone doesn't at least have one to change things up every now and then.
Now I just need to find a 2.5" Model 19 P&R to match my 66 no dash! |
I got mine in today too. But I only ordered mine about 4 weeks ago...:o
|
:) I told my friends that some one would buy Tyler and turn it around. It's just to good of a thing not to. Don
|
Just got mine today too. Ordered it in July for my Colt Agent.
|
Finally got my two--a bronze N-frame and a shiny black K-frame. They look good!

This is the best news I have heard all week! I am gonna order a Black one for my 442 this week!

Received T-grips
Ordered 2 t-grips, one colt and one smith, brushed aluminum in November 2009, got them yesterday after about 21 months!!!!! Had given up on ever seeing them.
What's really amazing is that the build quality looks better than the originals that I had obtained about 30 years ago. |

That's a good turn around time right there.

Tyler T-Grip turnaround was 13 days
After seeing positive signs on previous threads, I decided to go for it and order a new J-frame T-grip. Order was mailed on 8/31, and the grip arrived today.
Looks like things are back to normal. Just wanted to share my experience. Thanks. |
Still waiting for J frame paid for in December!
|
Leonard,
If you get tired of waiting, a forum member Wrangler5 has been producing Grip Adapters to fill the void. (BK grips) His new ones are a DOUBLE CLIP DESIGN and the fit is really good on both my "J" and "K" frames. |

I plan to order a few more. |
About a month ago I mailed them a copy of the original order on their form never heard back. Does anyone have a phone number?
I bought an old Tyler for the gun at a show so its not need but a matter of principle. |

According to their web site, Tyler is under new ownership/management and is clearing up their backorders of brushed/polished aluminum and bronze trigger shoes and T-Grips.
|
I have been following their new ownership and am aware of customers receiving their orders. But I am irritated to hear that the same adapter I order and paid for close to 9 months ago is being delivered to more recent customers.

Tyler T-grips
I ordered one for My Ruger Speed Six less than 2 weeks ago and received it today. Looks like new owner is bringing back the product. Hope everyone gets theirs soon. kingcobra07:)
|
Len, I suspect that you will soon be receiving a package. Just got mine ordered in Dec 2010.
|
I just got another "BK" Grip Adapter for a "K"-frame that I ordered MONDAY.
|
Sent off a an order today, hopefully its a quick turnaround! Now to order some new grips for the jframe.
|
Still have not received my order from December sent them a copy of cancelled check asking for a refund
|
man, i want one but afraid to order right now. wouldn't mind the bk adapter, but i can't bring myself to spend 30 bucks on a piece of plastic.
