Why bother ordering an adapter? Just send the check and you'll get the same result.:D

Bill

OK, that made me laugh out loud, and I really needed that today!

I hope, however, given the fact that Tyler's site says most everything is now in stock that perhaps that would not be the result despite many of the postings here.

I thought I saw on their site that in stock items ship within 7 days or so. I would hope they are honoring their word if inventory is actually in stock as they say.

Could it be time to just say R.I.P. to this 4-year-old thread?

AMEN-AMEN !!

Otreb 03-10-2015 06:16 PM

I have three on order, I talked to someone when I placed the order and I agree they are hard to get in contact with. I haven't written them off, worst case I wait a while for my stuff.

Frank V 03-11-2015 08:28 PM

I'm not trying to be smart or sarcastic, but if someone doesn't like a thread just don't pull it up?
Others may like it?

I received mine in about two weeks. He was very quick to respond to my emails. I love my T-grip. It makes a world difference in the handling of my Model 38.

Boy I like hearing that, maybe they've turned a corner?
If you don't mind how much do they cost now? I've seen them on ebay for a lot more than they used to go for.
Thanks.

Just curious...how long have you been waiting?

I think if I'd talked to someone when placing the order, I'd have asked them why they're so hard to contact, and why does it take so long to get the product.

Thanks ladder13

imakmst 03-16-2015 03:00 PM

I know some have knocked having this old thread updated, but, I wanted to tell that I sent Tyler a letter with a order on 2-23-15 from NE TN and I got my T-grip today. That's mail time there, process the order, mail time back.....3 weeks.

g-dad 03-16-2015 03:10 PM

imakmst, thanks for the info. I believe I'll take a chance. Need some J T's.

ptnumber1 03-17-2015 12:16 AM

I took a chance mid-December last year and ordered a #1 brushed and got it in less than 3 weeks. Ordered another #1 in polished finish in early February and received it in the mail in about 2 1/2 weeks.

Frank V 03-17-2015 10:06 AM

Seems like they are getting it together.
I hope so it is a very good adaptor.

I prefer the BK grip adapters. With one exception I use them on all my J,K,and L frame revolvers.
BK offers a two clip attachment, are a little less money, and ships in days.

STCM(SW) 03-17-2015 07:09 PM

I just ordered one for my M49.
See how long it takes to get it.....

Otreb 03-20-2015 06:48 PM

I placed my order for three (2 Colts and a Smith) in early Feb, they arrived today. I actually spoke with them just yesterday, he had just sent them off priority.
I'm happy with my experience overall.

PlaytheAces 03-21-2015 12:29 AM

Ordered a couple the beginning of February and received them this week. No complaints at all here.

Of course I hail from a time before e-commerce. Back when you ordered from a catalog and it took a while to get stuff.

And I've ordered parts for heavy industrial equipment that had minimum six month lead times. So I suppose for me it's just a matter of perspective. ;)

Mailed out order on 3-18, arrived today, only 12 days....
Not bad at all.... :)

Frank V 04-01-2015 12:16 PM

Thanks everyone I really enjoy hearing they are back on track.
They are a nice grip adaptor & don't add bulk to a gun.

3S16 04-01-2015 11:39 PM

This is a great product. The current owners just need to sell the company to a reliable buyer who will meet production quotas and orders on time and allow for payment other than a mailed check or money order. It's painful to see the original Tyler makers name besmirched on the net by the poor performance of his heirs. I have a number of T grips on my guns. I want more, but would rather find one for sale on ebay or elsewhere than take a chance with Tyler and wait 4 or 5 months hoping for delivery.

eveled 04-04-2015 01:52 PM

Mine came today in the mail, less than 2 weeks.

ladder13 04-04-2015 05:09 PM

Looks like they're back on track and survived the storm(figuratively). I think a brushed aluminum RB K frame is calling me.:)

I believe your right. :)

Hey, there you go! I need to get a set of Barami hip grips for the one I got off here for my 64 snub. :D

John Law 04-13-2015 10:51 AM

Several months ago I placed an order for a T grip only because I saw the web site had been updated and it stated production was running and they had all sizes in stock. Several days after I mailed the money the check was cashed. After 4 weeks no grip, so I called, left multiple messages and sent E mails.. no response.
I notified the BBB, after several weeks they received no response. Last resort I filed a complaint with the Attorney General that's when my T grip arrive after about 10 weeks. Never heard a word from the company but I did notify the BBB and AG that I received the grip. J L

The current owner has been reported to be unreliable and unresponsive on several forums. The Better Business Bureau in Oklahoma gives them an F rating. LET THE BUYER BEWARE.

They still don't do credit cards but beats paying the ebay prices.

Thanks for the report and welcome to the forum. :)

Current order experience (November 2016)

Thought I might provide current order information:

Ordered a T-grip in mid-September, they deposited my check 10/2/16, have not received my grip as of 11/2/16.
Phone and email messages not returned.
Website says 2-3 week turnaround.
I really hate Tyler appears to be so unreliable, they have a great product.
When/if I receive the product, will advise.

old bear 11-03-2016 08:32 AM

It's really sad that a old line company with a great product is going to the dog's that way this one appears to be.

There are not as fancy but BK produces a great product and has ON TIME shipping.

alexrex20 11-03-2016 10:58 AM

This is why I only ever buy my T grips from ebay or gunbroker, never direct.

It is sad to hear this, they are a great addition for those with large hands.

3S16 11-06-2016 12:37 AM

How is it possible that a great product with a ton of people wanting to buy it, faces such poor customer service and management?!
Please Tyler T-Grip Company, Sell your patent to a responsible producer.

Lots of hard luck hit this company over the last few years. My understanding is that it's a one man operation and a sideline.

That's true. It's a one man operation by a relative who took over the business after the original owner died. It's now a sideline for the owner who also has another job. I recall a post from someone who visited the address and said it was a small operation run out of his garage. A recent tornado did lots of damage in the area. Be prepared to wait a long time when ordering from this guy. Customer Service is not his forte'.

Lee's Landing Billy 11-06-2016 11:21 AM

Melvin Tyler must be turning over in his grave. I've been using this product for almost half a century. Just looked..counted 14 in the safe. I would get more but I guess I better wait and see how this shakes out.

Well here you go, he has 14 and wants more. I need a j frame brushed or polished for my model 60 and wont pay the inflated eBay prices. I guess I will stick with my ugly but functional rubber grips.

If the above is the case, then the owner needs to STOP accepting orders until he/she can get their act together. It appears that the new owner has no problems getting payments to the bank in a timely fashion.

326MOD10 11-06-2016 06:32 PM

I think I have ordered 5 over the course of the past year and while not the speediest on one occasion, I had them in a couple weeks on the other. I have received what I ordered and been happy with the product.

When I called to check on the product the one time, there had been a family death that was delaying matters and that is something that can't be controlled.

I personally am glad I had the patience to wait and will roll the dice again soon to get a couple more.

alexrex20 11-06-2016 06:40 PM

A couple weeks is the fastest you had them? Sorry that is not speedy either. There is no excuse for how long it takes them to ship out their product. Unless they have a really really big family and lots of deaths.

JK-linux 11-06-2016 08:27 PM

I love my T grips. I buy a set of them, and some Magnas, every time I buy a S&W wheel gun. That said, I quit buying them direct from Tyler. They make a great product, but they are not the best business to deal with as a customer.

H Richard 11-06-2016 08:32 PM

Why don't you that want one go to the classifieds and look up "BK grip adapters". They are made from a resin, (much lighter) but otherwise the same as a Tyler (Patent expired many years ago). He is in the St Louis area and will supply with in just days.

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s...6/IMG_1858.jpg

The early ones were various colors, but he has mostly a black and a silver one currently. May produce other colors from time to time.

Frank V 11-06-2016 11:30 PM

H Richard, thanks for the tip I looked them up on yahoo search & got the information.

Ranger514 11-07-2016 12:14 AM

As far as I'm concerned, Tyler is a rip off. They still owe me a polished adapter for a RB Kframe. I gave them two tries to get it right, but the fit was so ridiculously off on both occassions, I sent them back with a note. After the second return, I never heard from them. No refund. No replacement, despite repeated e-mails. Now, I only buy T-Grips when I find a decent online deal on older, boxed adapters that predate the current owner's product. As far as I'm concerned, the current owner is a disgrace. His ethics and business practices are less than honorable. Your experience may vary from mine, but I will never go direct with Tyler-T again. Ever.

OIF2 11-07-2016 12:33 AM

The BKs work great, are shipped quickly and the owner is a nice guy who's constantly working to improve his product. Perfect fit with several I've bought. Too bad about Tyler. Below is a recent BK adapter I recently purchased.

CajunBass 11-08-2016 08:02 AM

I'm another who has given up on Tyler's, not because of any of the problems mentioned here, but because I have to fill out an order form, write a check, put it in and envelope, stamp it, put it in the mailbox, and wait for however long.

I can go to BK's website, click on "order," then click on "pay" and I have it shipped to me, and in my mailbox, probably before I'd remember to take an envelope with an order to the mailbox in the first place.

Very pleased to report I received my T-grip in yesterday's mail (11/7/16). Fits perfectly. Completes my model 66 with a set of Patrick Grashorn's stag grips. Happy Camper!
