What to do to clean up nickle finish
I have some older nickle finish revolvers that have a few slight imperfections in finish what can I do to clean up or am better off leaving alone?

I used Flitz polish on an old Detective Special. It seemed to work pretty well. I'm no expert, but I don't think I would mess with it if the imperfections don't just "clean up".

You can either use Mothers Mag cleaner or Flitz polish. After you clean them either us Johnson's floor wax or Renaissance wax. Renaissance wax is more expnsive but it's what Museums use to preserve guns andother items.

If the finish is scratched or slightly into the nickel, polishing will help. A "cloudy" or pitted finish will probably not be significantly helped. Start with light pressure with any of the polishes mentioned above and work your way up.
