Default S&W Mod 60 PRO 3"

I'm considering one of these, does anyone have any experience with or opinions on these?

I shot one of the early ones out and it was great. The newer grip design helped absorb recoil very well with full house 158 gr. .357's. I liked it very much.

I have one, I'm ok with it. I'm not crazy about the modern design. I guess I am just a tradionalist.

I have been shooting one for about 6 months on the range. It is very accurate, and I use it with a Simply Rugged pancake holster for conceal to carry. 357 rounds cause my hand to hurt a little after about 25 rounds, but it has become a permanent resident!

How does the professional compare to a regular model 60 in 3"?

Got one and love it. The grip hurt my hand with .357 loads, so I switched to this grip and put the Pro's grip on my Model 63:

I have a 60 Pro and really like it. I think the wood grips that come with it are very nice, but I prefer Pachmayr grips for my J frames. I also have a 3” 63 as an understudy gun and that is the gun I put most of my rounds through when I practice. It saves money and works nicely when working on double action technique.

I love mine. I don't find it unpleasant to shoot .357 even with the factory grips. Just the right size for CC too.

I highly recommend the 60 Pro. It's very accurate and easy to carry. The tritium front night sight was, at first, somewhat hard to see, but I've gotten used to it. The factory wooden grips fit the hand perfectly. The only change I made was to occasionally add a pair of Crimson Trace LG-305 all rubber Lasergrips. That makes the package even better.

I doubt you will ever regret adding a 60 Pro to your collection. They are nice.

The 60 Pro is only ~$50 MSRP over the least expensive fixed sight 60 - it's a bargain! I bought mine in January - because of my great results with another 3" J-frame - my 3" 63 - new 11/10. I bought it - and my little shot existing 5" 63 - sets of '60 Pro' grips from S&W - $43 + s/h. I liked them so well, I bought another pair - for $631 - and they threw in the rest of the 60 Pro, too! Make room for me in the 60 Pro bandwagon - great revolver!

Here mine is in a 3" J-frame OWB holster - with the 3" 63 next to it - both fit it perfectly. The holster, made by DeSantis, is $65 + s/h + s/t from S&W Accessories - and is available in LH or RH - and in black, too. Nice holster.

The wood OEM grips are perfect for my 125gr JHP .38 Spcl plinkers, +P .38 Spcl HD rounds, and wimpy .357M's alike. None of my .357M chambered revolvers have ever fired a 'real' .357M - unless they did so at the factory. I just prefer lighter .38-ish loads. I've never bought - or made - real .357M ammo. Now, .44 Magnum is another story - as is .454 Casull. I'm older now, too... and enjoy what's left of my wrist joints.

I have had my M60 pro for a month now. I like a lot!!! I have had a M28 for about 40 years. The little 60 pro seems to be the best of both worlds it shoots nice (real nice) and is also easy to pack. I had looked at the Al and plastic 2 inch Js They are light and would be very easy to pack but they do not feel like they would be any where near as nice to shoot as the M60 is. The M60 pro will be with me a lot more than the 28 has been.

I've had mine (Model 60 Pro) for a couple weeks now.
Currently using a soft Uncle Mike's IWB size 15 for appendix carry but looking for something (another holster) better suited for the 60 with 3" barrel.

Mine finally came in. Not an abundance of holsters out there for it.
So far I'm okay using an old soft Uncle Mike's IWB #15 for appendix carry and found an Allan pocket holster at my local gunshop does fine for front pocket of some of my pants but still looking for a better IWB for it.

Moonman I just bought one on Monday. I posted about it on here. I shot it and loved it. If you get it we can pair them up at the NE Ohio Bunch meeting.
