Shipping to S&W for repair, return to where?
Question:
When shipping a 617 pistol to S&W for repair "warranty" I know that
UPS will ship a pistol to S&W , but what about return delivery?.
Where does a repaired pistol get shipped to? Me? or a FFL Dealer? What about FFL fees?
Thanks

Yes I know S&W will take care of it but I was curious as to who receives the repaired pistol.
Thanks for the reply.

A while back I sent in a BG380 for repairs and after the repairs were done it was shipped back to me at my home by FedEx. A little later I had to send the same gun back but this time they had to replace the frame so I got a new serial number. This time the gun was shipped to my FFL because I had to go through the paperwork again. Since this was warranty work S&W paid shipping both ways both times. S&W had my dealer's FFL on file so no hassle there. S&W CS will explain it all to you.

I had a Sig P226 and a Colt SAA, both replaced with new serial numbered frames, shipped directly to me. Curious as to why S&W would not do the same.

Fedex policy for firearms is priority overnight: they want to keep them i the pipeline as short as possible. The label SW emails you is 2-day air. If you just drop it off it will fly. If you notify you have a firearm they may freak out and say they don't do weapons any other way than overnight, and you may have an issue. You will go back and forth a few times.

It depends on your state laws.
In Oklahoma, the gun comes directly to me, Adult Signature Required.
In some states, it must go to an FFL. So, where do you live? That's the answer.
