Default Smith & “Friend” picture thread

More than a year ago I started a gun + knife thread that brought out some really cool S&W/blade combo pictures, not to mention some items hardly ever seen before. I thought I would try again with a Smith + another (not necessarily a S&W) firearm. Revolver, semi-auto pistol, rifle, shotgun, NFA… what ever! Let’s see what this group can come up with.

I’ll start with two of my favorites for the shooting range:

I'll play.....Mr. Smith and King Edward are friends.

Okay, not another firearm but it's what I had on the computer handy. I'll replace it if I can find something better...

Great photo, Bill! I wish I had your skill.

I have posted this before, just a quick shot with my BlackBerry. Here are two of my .357s (the other is a 1997 686-4), a 1995 Ruger SP101 and a 1985 S&W 586:

This one may not be quite in the spirit of the thread since they are both S&Ws, but the 686 is a friend of the S&W 586, and the 586 is a friend of the S&W 686:

Very cool thread idea. Thank you for kicking it off.

Those first postings are unreal......very interesting guns photograhed beautifully.

I've got a few cell phone picks of the Smith & Wesson that spends the most time with me....sort of like having many excellent dogs....there is just that one that is your companion and goes everywhere with you.

Our youngest dog came home with us last summer....about the same time my 442 arrived.

I'm smitten with both of them!!!

We had lots of time to spend together last fall as I was recovering from some ankle surgery and sidelined for a couple of months. She goes most everywhere with me....sort of like my little 442.

She also plays well with the rest of the dogs in the family......again, not unlike my little 442.

442 with my favorite woods carry gun, M57MG:

With my wife's home protector M&P JG 9mm:

442 with my wife's ccw LCP:

don't have a pic of my 442 with my 629, but do have one of wife's LCP with it:

My 442 with my smallest 1911:

My 442 with my most accurate 1911, love that SA RO:

The big and small of it. My 442 with the best "triggered" gun I've ever owned, my PC 500:

My 442 with my favorite deer rifle, my Steyr-Zeiss combo. My only regret was not buying this outfit years ago. It would have saved me the dissapointment of dabbling with other combos. I very pleased with this one:

My 442 with my favorite shotgun, Beretta Xtrema2. Once again, I wish I'd have bought this one years ago as it would have saved me the expensive search for the right one. I tried a number of others and wound up flipping them. This one may very well be the last hunting shotgun I ever buy. It's perfect for me. What it does to recoil is stupid. I was goofing around at the range with a buddy and we filmed ourselves shooting rapid fire....3.5" magnum turkey loads at 25 yard targets. It was a hoot and the gun was unreal. Buddy couldn't believe it. I'll see if I can find the link somewhere.

Now for the last one for now. This is my 442 with my favorite .45acp shooter, my P220 Sport Stock. I bought this one last fall because it was love at first sight. The credentials that came along with the gun were convincing, too. Signed 25m test target from the factory in Germany. Fitted slide, frame and barrel....all with the same serial number.....stainless frame.....checkered frontstrap (I'm a sucker for that). Anyway, enough rambling on about this gun. I love the heft and I love the performance at the range. It is a bit bulky and the rail isn't my first choice in a carry pistola. This one is getting a tactical light/laser after I get it break in completed on it. Round cout now is 100 rounds. Just picked up another pair of factory magazines and will be continue this fun process. It has zero ftf at this point. I believe this semi-auto will be an excellent home defender.

I'll dig around and see if I have others....wish I had a nicer camera....but everytime I go look at them, my eye is drawn to the nicer Nikon models and the budget would be such that my gun & ammo funds would be tapped completely. Can't do that as I'm working on another Perf Cent wheelgun deal currently.

Hello all, this is my first post here on S&W forum, I've been a S&W owner for a few years now and LOVE them. So far I just have a 5906 that was passed down to me, and a SW1911 that was my first 'new gun' purchase in a gun shop to celebrate obtaining my LTC/CCW I love them both and plan on purchasing as many S&Ws as possible over the years! I just found this forum today for the first time, found the answer to a question I had, and was thoroughly entertained by a few threads. Anyhoo, oh ya so 'Smith and friends':

the 5906, 1851 Navy, and Beretta Tomcat are mine, the Bersa and jennings are a friend's.

My Ol reliables. I love guns that start with 4

not all my .45s, but one of each =)
Wildey Survivor 8"bbl in .45 Win-Mag
SW1911 My most trusted semi-auto it's my only 1911 so far so OF COURSE it's .45acp
JP Sauer & Sohn/Hawes "Texas Marshal" (their typo not mine, actually stamped in bbl) in .45LC

and finally, my smiths and allll their friends

You just have to stop the posting of such great photos and equipment! It is causing me great pangs of "the need to retire and move there earlier" than I had planned!!!

You live in about the BEST state in the US for gun ownership and for protecting the rights of it's citizens. Us poor saps who are stuck here in the land of liberals, aka California, are all pretty jealous...

Seriously, thanks for the fantastic photos of your OBVIOUSLY great weapon collection...I hope to get to meet you in person when I start searching for my post-retirement home in you state...

Thanks JJ. Yes, I chose AZ after living for 30 years in WA state. While no where near as repressive as CA (I barely will even go there for more than a few days in the summer), WA was b-a-d.

AZ is gun heaven.

Please retire here! -Bill

I thought so--thanks for confirming! I haven't fired the 10mm version, but I've been fortunate to be able to shoot a nearly identical MP5/40 on a fairly regular basis. It's by far my favorite weapon of all time! The one I shoot has a 4-setting trigger pack--safe, semi, two-round burst, and full auto. In my opinion, the two-round burst is the most useful...an instant double-tap, very controllable and very accurate. And it's a heck of a lot of fun at the range!

10mms

38s 14-6 and officers special.

45s a 27-2 converted to 45acp and a re-release series 70.

A model 17 and a "great eight"

Everyone recognizes these, a 1911A1 and a Garand.

Lots of fun at my range out back.
