model 14-6 full-lug in stainless?
Hi I am new to this site , and I have a question. I recently
found a S&W model 14-6 in stainless. I can't seem to find any
literature on one ever being manufactured. Can anyone shed
a little light on this revolver.
thanks you for you time,

Not stainless. Probably an aftermarket coating or plating job. Can you post some pictures?

What dusty said. S&W's model numbers for their stainless guns begins with a 6, as in Model 64, 65, 66, 686, etc. All of the 14-6's were shipped in blue finish.

If it's shinny it's probably nickel coated. I don't know if the factory made a nickel M14-6, I've never seen one, but lots of places can do the work.
If it's a dull silver color it's probably been hard chromed. Again, lots of places can do that. It's actually a really superior firearm finish.
If the gun is truly stainless steel, it's not a Model 14.

I just picked up one of these NIB, blued. After the research I've done on the net, I've never seen one factory finished in brushed steel or nickel.

That would be because a 14-6 in stainless was NEVER manufactured.
