Price check Model 65-3 3" Found 2
I know I do lots of price checks but I'm still buying my first of each model so bear with me - I usually buy them after reading your advice. Been on a hot streak lately.
I ran into 2 65-3's in very good condition. Both 3". No box or docs and grips are so-so.
Price is 395 each and I'm thinking the 3" looks very nice.
Price great, okay, or run away?

I woulda thought $395 is not bad for a stainless .357 w/3" barrel.
Sure a lot less than what something comparable in current production would cost, and no doubt better.

If they are in any sort of good shape, I would jump on them. Prices here in NE Georgia have seen some go for up to $550. I paid $450 a year ago for a Model 65-3 with three-inch barrel. I'd get one or both.....

I gots one marked BRPD (Baton Rouge Police Dept.) that I've got $400.00 in. It's in good mechanical shape and polished up real nice. There's a lot of them around in the $350 range but it was worth the extra because I like police marked stuff.

This would be my reaction too. They're a little under 5 around here, when they're found at all.
In my neck of the woods, the days of the $300 blue S&W and the $400 stainless one's are about over.

I'd buy both guns. I got $500 out of mine when I sold it and wish I could find another.

I'd try to haggle for a "buy two discount" price, but if they are in very good condition or better $395 each is still a fine price.

We have people around here selling Tauruses, Rossis, and Charter Arms for $350-400. I'd say that's a good deal.
Also, in a few years when you can't touch one for under $500, you'll be kicking yourself for not buying them.

Considering the paucity of 3" guns and the cost of new ones with the IL, I continue to be amazed that such as these are still occasionally found at these prices.
To live in what many consider to be a backward part of the country, most of the gun dealers/owners/traders around here are very well educated to what the top end of the market is price wise.
Stories like that abound here (on this board) while in some locales these guns are never even seen. If you want one you pay what is asked if you get it.
The "internet" sword cuts both ways . . .
