Default J & K/L holster question

Does anyone know of a company that produces leather tanker-style holsters that will accommodate J & K/L frame snubs (640 and 66/686)? Thanks in advance.

While you guys are fielding holster questions, I have several Model 66s and 686s with target hammers and triggers and am having trouble finding fitted, lined leather holsters with safety straps instead of thumb-breaks - they won't snap closed around the target hammer while a strap goes under the spur, so its size doesn't matter.

I like holsters like the Bianchi 5BHL (I have them in 4", 5" and 6" lengths) and have emailed Bianchi about this concern but never heard anything back from them. Thanks for any suggestions.

Look here at Classic Tom Threepersons styles. The owner is a forum member and has a good rep around here.

Thank you! They have just what I wanted and offer a lot more options than other suppliers.

Luis ... I can't seem to find the Elite model you mentioned. Do you have a link?

Thanks to ab4ka for the Simply Rugged suggestion.

Any others are most appreciated!

I like the looks of the Lobo stuff, but haven't seen it in person.

I do own several holsters from El Paso Saddlery. www.epsaddlery.com They will also do some custom touches. I prefer their thumbsnap Threepersons style with lining and basketweave stamping. But also like the regular Threepersons wth conventional retaining strap.

Ruger sells some thumbbreak Threepersons designs made for the SP-101 and the GP-100. Cost is under $40, and they look pretty good at that price, if you can't afford more, especally if the gun isn't worn daily.

If you're lucky, you may find old Safariland Model 25 or 29 or Bianchi 5BHL holsters in gun shops or at shows. These are nearly the quality of the others mentioned, although the basketweave by El Paso is the best that I've seen.

Be warned: EPS has a very long delivery time. Ask if they have any holsters in stock from cancelled orders or see if you can find a dealer who has their products at gun shows. (But I never find one who has the models that I want. I have been luckier with Safariland and Bianchi items, maybe because more were made and some were used by police forces that sold them off when they went to autos.)

Rob is definitely your huckleberry. I have 2 Simply Rugged holsters. If you buy one you will use it.
These are not the type that end up unused in a drawer.
