My new 27-9 came with a rough bore that had tool marks the full length of the grooves. Returned it and the barrel was replaced. When it came back it had been fire as expected. After cleaning and inspecting it is still not the quality barrel I expected from S&W. There is copper fouling just below the forcing cone that I have not been able to remove and I have tried everything that I could think of.
Any suggestions in how to remove the fouling. What level of quality should I expect in the bore of the new barrel? The bore or lands are bright and smooth but the groves dull and frosty looking with an uneven look.
Any help, comments or suggestion will appreciated.
