Question LOCKS, YES OR NO???

I am new on here and have some questions about locks... I know S & W has built in locks on some or maybe all of their revolvers... None of my guns have such a lock as I haven't bought new one in a while... I enjoy hearing people on here playing "Show & Tell" of their new acquisitions and they seem to put a premium on a no lock model... Just what is the big deal about a gun with no lock as opposed to one with a lock... Do the locks malfunction after so much shooting? I'm sure the government probably forced them to have locks but are there really problems with them? The worse thing I can think of is your key and your gun might not be in the same place at the same time you want to put said gun to use... Inquiring minds want to know... Later, Dave

I don't know of ANYONE who likes the lock but a few of us tolerate them. I suggest never to lock the gun, then there's not much reason to have the key.
