Default 10-10 re-import

There is a 10-10 in a local shop with CAI VERMONT GA import markings on it. Blued 4" HB with rubber grips. What countries might this revolver have returned from? It is shooter grade in condition and price, but might make an interesting shooter or project gun. If it came back from Japan it would also add some interest for me. This is a possibility based on some google searching I have done. Thanks for any info.

Dan

CAI is the importer (Century Arms Int'l). Sometimes they're marked and sometimes you can look at the proofs and identify the country by the proofhouse stamp. Joe

Hmm, interesting. I went back to the shop again today, found a helpful guy behind the counter who didn't mind taking the stocks off (despite a raised eyebrow when I first asked). Serial is BFC5137, SCSW showed 1990 manufacture if I remember correctly. Your typical police carry gun, holster wear on the barrel but obviously cared for, and with a very good action and lockup. We'll see if Century responds to my email.

Century got back to me very quickly. Unfortunately their records do not show what country the gun returned from. Spain sounds logical to me so I will go with that.

DANG! I was hoping you got some interesting info back from CAI.
I picked up a 10-10 CAI re-import, 4" heavy barrel, round butt from a pawn a couple of years back. Finish and function are great, with a small amount of holster rub. Guess we'll just have to wonder about all the roads they have traveled! (sn BSL7XXX)
