Default Conflicting information from S&W on 637

I recently bought a 637 from a LGS. I e-mailed S&W with a simple question and found info on their website. Can someone shed some light on this for me? The website says +P and the e-mail says no +P.

I believe you are getting the lawyer version of the company line, and a lot depends on the DOB of your 37. The newer ones are marked +P on the barrel, older ones do not have this designation.

My 442 is not marked +P, but I usually shoot 10 to 15 rounds per year just to keep in practice. Its DOB is 1992 and no damage to date.

Hope this helps.

Is your 637 new, or did you buy a used older gun?

Thanks Old Cop and Dragon 88.
I now see the +P marked on the barrel.
It is a new revolver with the test cartridge dated in April of this year.
